CA$ 195.00 CAD

This sculpture is a part of a series entitled, 'L'apogée'. The word apogée means the summit. It requires a huge amount of effort, hard work, determination, and perseverance to reach the summit. This is how it is when one sets out to accomplish a major goal in life. There are many setbacks and failures. Along with that there are successes also. This bust entitled, 'adversity' is a reminder that difficulties and challenges make us appreciate and value the successes even more.

The Story Behind

"Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit." Napoleon Hill

Adversity, challenges, failures, and setbacks are a normal part of life. Whenever I have tried to do something major, I have encountered these, as I am sure you have too. I created a series of busts showing different emotions and states of mind that we go through as we try to accomplish something important. There are days when everything goes right and there are days when nothing seems to go right. Those days are also good. They teach us how to value and appreciate sussessful and happy moments.

This black and white print is a part of the series, "Lessons Learned from Six-year Olds". Each piece is hand-printed by the artist. A portion of the money from the sale of this print is donated to mental health.

Knowing where one wants to go, setting the goal and focusing on it are important in order to succeed. If one can eliminate distractions and stay focused on a single goal, success is not hard to attain. Sometimes it takes a young six-year old to remind us of this. It is based on a true story.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
