Sandpiper is a beautiful bird. I live near Johnson's Mills, a place where sandpipers come by thousand every summer. They fly from arctic and make a pit stop on their way to Antarctic. They stop at Johnson's Mills for 2-3 weeks. They eat voraciously and double their weight in order to prepare for the nonstop 72 hour flight. What an amazing example of strengthj, resilience, and preparation!

The Story Behind
Sandpipers are amazing birds. I love to watch them every summer. At Johnson's Mills several thousand sandpipers arrive every summer. When they fly away, it seems like a huge dark cloud drifting away.
For me, they symbolize immense strength, planning, perseverance, and resilience. When I drink my tea or coffee out of a sandpiper mug, these are the qualities that I would like to inculcate in myself.

This black and white print is a part of the series, "Lessons Learned from Six-year Olds". Each piece is hand-printed by the artist. A portion of the money from the sale of this print is donated to mental health.
